![]() ![]() Season one covers the deepening of their friendship after their initial chance encounter. The key concept is built around the regular Monday meeting between a young office worker and a high school girl (Ai) on their commutes to work & school. The five-minute episodes are based upon the drawings of Kiseki Himura that had been originally posted only on Twitter. It strongly resembles a cross between “Ganbare, Douki-chan” (AtelierPontdarc 2021) and “Higehiro” (Project No.9 2021). Tawawa on Monday will begin serialization in Weekly Young Magazine on November 16.One for the oppai fans this one. ![]() Will it be a proper series? Or will it just be a series of illustrations? We’ll just have to wait until later this week to find out.įor now, it is worth reiterating the reaction of Yomu, one of Himura’s most high-profile supporters, through his character of Douki: ![]() The Twitter version of Tawawa on Monday will also continue alongside the serialization, raising further doubts as to how it will function in the pages of Weekly Young Magazine. Surely, it would’ve made more sense for Weekly Young Magazine to pick it up around then, not now? And it’s not as if Kodansha needs any more slice-of-life successes: The Cuckoo’s Fiancee is already breaking records here, there, and everywhere. In fact, the chapter published after the second episode is one of the most popular, netting close to 28,000 retweets. While the chapter before the serialization announcement still got over 11,000 retweets, there was a short anime produced in 2016 by NBCUniversal that served to promote it to the wider public. One of the reasons why Tawawa on Monday’s sudden addition to the pages of Weekly Young Magazine is so surprising is that, for all intents and purposes, the peak of the webcomic’s popularity has long since passed. ![]() To be honest, the story is pretty vague at best, and acts mostly as a vehicle for Himura to express his love for big boobs and cute girls (NSFW). New chapters go live every – you guessed it – Monday, and mostly consist of illustrations with not much text. Himura started the Tawawa on Monday webcomic back in 2015, and has since drawn close to 300 installments. Just last week, we reported on The Ghost Behind the Gal joining the Weekly Shonen Champion line-up, based on Kurara Hashimoto’s popular webcomic, but color me surprised when I learned that Kiseki Himura’s Tawawa on Monday ( Getsuyoubi no Tawawa) would be getting a serialization in Weekly Young Magazine. Twitter manga getting proper serializations is no longer a new thing. ![]()
